WeMakeThe.City is het festival dat stad en ommeland beter maakt. In 2018 en 2019 met grote manifestaties in Amsterdam en de metropoolregio, nu in 2021 en 2022 met een langlopend programma WeMakeThe.City Green in het kader van Floriade Amsterdam – Almere 2022. Ruim een jaar lang in Almere, Amsterdam en op andere plekken in de regio; in de provincies Flevoland en Noord-Holland. Met lezingen, talkshows, workshops, expedities, exposities, filmvertoningen en veel storytelling voor een breed publiek.
WeMakeThe.City is een initiatief van Gemeente Amsterdam, Pakhuis de Zwijger, Amsterdam Economic Board, Amsterdam Smart City, AMS, Hogeschool van Amsterdam en Waag naar aanleiding van het door de stad Amsterdam in 2016 in Brussel winnen van de iCapital Award (Innovatiehoofdstad van Europa). WeMakeThe.City Green wordt gerealiseerd door Pakhuis de Zwijger (Amsterdam) en Avanti (Almere) op initiatief van de gemeentes Almere en Amsterdam, met het accent op het thema: The Voice of Urban Nature.
