At the heart of honest and authentic visual story-telling are people and communities. wephoto was born out of the need to bring the focus back on the centrality of people and communities in visual story-telling, and giving them a voice in the ‘telling’ of their own stories. How do we create these connections and inspire communities? There is no better way than to use art and the power of visuals to connect with the communities and have a conversation. This vision sowed the seeds of wephoto. Where we stands for Communicators and Creators, the people who believe in the power of visuals. And photo is a metaphor for society at large and a visual representation of its different layers – the community, people, places, events and happenings, issues or even an idea. wephoto enables storytelling through authentic, honest, innovative, culturally sensitive and relevant, and diverse visual narratives – capturing India and its people, as is.
