The Mediterranean, bridge between Africa, Asia and Europe, cradle of brilliant civilizations and wonder of nature, is in danger. It is now the tomb of our world, tons of waste drifting in midwaters and dreams of an easier life drowned in indifference, even rejection. In the view of this observation, shared by many of us, only one remedy: action. We R Med federates NGOs and the civil society, in particular the youth, of all the countries of the Mediterranean basin around the preservation of our common treasure. With a highlight event, a major clean-up operation of the coastline mobilizing the general public, simultaneously in all countries during the sustainable development week of and the day of the oceans in June 2020.
