About West Coast Space Centre
The West Coast Space Centre (WCSC) project is the brainchild of Tasmanian technologists slash science communicators Mars and Paris Buttfield-Addison. In this, they plan to establish a small science centre and community space in Strahan, Tasmania that is focused on STEM outreach. By focusing on the topic of space and astronomy, WCSC can showcase a science for which Tasmania is world-renowned, and make it clear to young people that opportunities to do cutting-edge science exist right here on the island. WCSC is a few years away yet, but Mars and Paris are hard at work saving funds, making connections, handling paperwork, and collecting artifacts.
