West Cumbria Mining Ltd is a private company that is looking to provide high quality coking coal mined in Whitehaven, UK to supply the steel industry at home and overseas.
Currently we have three licences which collectively cover an area of approximately 200km2 off the coast at Whitehaven in West Cumbria, UK. Based on existing data, we believe there is over 750 million tonnes of coking coal resources across the area. The company is aiming to develop a mine that is producing two to three million tonnes of hard to semi-soft coking coal a year.
We are looking to support the people and environment local to the mine sites as the area evolves into a modern mining community which can be proud of its role in producing quality coking coal for the UK and Europe steel industry.
