The Western SC Economic Development Partnership, a non-profit organization, that promotes economic development within Aiken, Edgefield, Saluda, and McCormick Counties, both for existing companies and for prospective members of the business community. Western SC seeks to improve the climate for manufacturers and entrepreneurs through community and legislative action, and looks to cement the four county region's reputation as a home for industry of all sectors.
The region is part of the Aiken-Augusta MSA with a population of more than 600,000 and a workforce of more than 280,000. The total population in Aiken, Edgefield, Saluda and McCormick Counties reaches over 230,000. The estimated population in 2023 is expected to increase by roughly 10,000.
