West Indies Petroleum was incorporated in 2012 out of the need to meet the ever growing demand of the region’s marine refuelling as well as the necessity to establish Jamaica as a global logistics hub.
In June 2016, we acquired the West Indies Petroleum South Terminal: a 650,000 barrel fuel storage facility located at Port Esquivel on the south coast of Jamaica. In addition, we host storage of 63,000 barrel tanks on the north coast and a further 72,000 barrels over two tug and barges in Kingston Harbour. With storage in excess of 700,000 barrels, West Indies Petroleum boasts the largest fuel bunker capabilities in Jamaica and is positioned centrally between the three major shipping lanes from the Caribbean region entering to and from South America, the Gulf Coast, stretching along the US eastern coast as far as Europe and Asia. #FuelingTheFuture
