About Westminster House Society

For more than 35 years, Westminster House has offered programs to adult women recovering from addiction. Through its personalized “holistic” recovery model paired with principles from the 12-step approach, Westminster House is one of the few residential treatment centres available to women in British Columbia. It is a charitable, non-profit organization with highly qualified staff committed to empowering individuals to take responsibility for their ongoing recovery process. Addiction affects the entire family unit. Family and friends are an integral part of the recovery and reintegration process. Westminster House strongly encourages family members to participate in educational meetings, self help programs and other therapeutic activities to enhance healing and to promote lasting recovery. Westminster House offers a social model of addiction treatment that promotes and facilitates a desire for recovery, helping clients help themselves overcome their addiction. The recovery program provides the necessary tools to each client, so they can trust their own ability to reclaim a drug-free existence.
