The WFF National Chapters (NC) is a self-organised national platform aligned to the principles and mission of the WFF and convened by a network of partners/organizations within a country. NC undertake activities and projects in line with the WFF's mission and tracks and mobilize youth-led local action to help achieve more sustainable agri-food systems in their respective communities, cities and countries.
With NC, young people will have a platform to initiate and sustain solution building in their communities, inform policymaking in their countries and regions, and build lasting transformation in their local agri-food systems. NC are the WFF’s hands on the ground in identifying and addressing local needs and in engaging youth at a localized level. The NC’ activities cumulatively contribute to the broader regional and global collective youth leadership and actions that foster agri-food systems transformation. NC of Republic of Korea (ROK) was established in June 2023 with young professionals with their interests in identifying problems and finding sustainable solutions in agrifood systems at the national level, with the support from FAO Partnership and Liaison Office (PLO) in the Republic of Korea (ROK). Since its establishment, NC members, consisting of 11 members with different backgrounds, have been actively participating in various activities organized by FAO to enhance their understanding on agrifood systems and leading the organization of various activities to encourage youth participation in the sector.
As part of the NC’s efforts to motivate youth engagement in transforming agrifood systems, FAO PLO in ROK and NC plan to organize a satellite event for 2023 WFF contributing to the overall theme of “Agrifood systems transformation accelerates climate action”.
