WGH Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. traces its origins back to the World Group, a family-owned business with a rich history spanning almost four decades, starting with ventures in the mining industry. The allure of Kerala, often called 'God's Own Country,' led the Group to explore opportunities in tourism. In 2012, they entered the tourism and hospitality sector by acquiring World Backwaters Alleppey. Under the World Group Heritance (WGH) banner, the company now owns and manages properties in two prominent Idukki District tourism destinations: The Tall Trees in Munnar and Poetry Resort in Thekkady. WGH is also set to unveil a new Five-Star property in Kochi by December 2023 and is actively expanding into the Middle East and Africa.
