T.A.S.T.E: the Dark Arts of IT Support

T.A.S.T.E. was created from my observation over many years of many different technicians who were successful in their daily work and in moving up the company ladder. I modeled myself after them and began to have great success as well. I also included a couple of examples of other upwardly mobile peers who have inspired me throughout my career as an IT technician and subsequently an IT Technical Manager. This book is dedicated to clients or end users. This book is dedicated to anyone who's ever put in a ticket and had to wait just to receive bad service. This ticket is dedicated to those who through patience and wisdom showed me what it meant to be a true service technician. This book is also dedicated to all the technicians out there who go to work every day most likely underpaid for what they do or what they must deal with. One of the greatest understandings I received working at all is that most of all, people want to be around pleasant people. Whether it's your quality of work, your appearance or even the way you interact with your peers many non-IT factors affect the way your service is perceived. One must also be careful with how you value others time or how you connect with others. As long as you go about presenting these qualities and traits in a good and positive manner to the best of your abilities you will succeed not only as an IT technician but as a person.
