We are a rice company based in Cambodia, where rice is an essential crop for many rural households who depend on it for their livelihoods. In 2000, we observed that the local market for rice was saturated, and there was a surplus of rice that could not be consumed domestically. Therefore, we started to purchase paddy from farmers at fair prices and sell it to rice processors in Thailand and Vietnam, who had a higher demand for rice. However, this trade was risky and volatile, as the prices were influenced by the foreign markets and the exchange rates. To overcome this challenge, we decided to set up our own rice processing plant in 2005, with modern equipment and technology. Our aim was to increase the value of the farmers' products by producing high-quality rice that met international standards. We also wanted to ensure food security for our nation by providing enough rice for domestic consumption. Our rice processing business was successful and received support from the Cambodian government, who recognized our contribution to the economy and the society. As a result, we widened our market to export our rice directly to overseas customers in 2011, without relying on intermediaries. Since then, we have established trust and loyalty with our customers who value our quality rice. Our customers include wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, and hotels in various countries such as Finland, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Australia.
