Why Philanthropy Matters is a space for exploring philanthropy: what it is, how it works and why it affects all our lives. Across a wide range of outputs and activities, we draw on deep knowledge of history – as well as current issues and trends – to put philanthropy in its proper context and help us all understand where it has come from, what it looks like today and where it might be going in the future. Our aim is to make philanthropy issues engaging and accessible for as many people as possible. We will never talk down to you, but we also won’t drown you with sector jargon or assume that you already know (or care) about the topics we discuss. We see it as our job to bring the discussion to where the audience is, rather than waiting for you to come to us. We regularly produce in-depth articles, shorter snapshot blogs, podcasts, video updates and more, so check us out for regular updates on our work and what is going on in the world of philanthropy. Whether you are a self-confessed philanthropoid, or someone who has never given philanthropy the first thought, we will do our best to provide you with insight and food for thought!
