Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is a premier non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research, and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking, and mentoring opportunities.
Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS), established by Dr. Ambareen Siraj through a National Science Foundation Grant to Tennessee Tech University in 2013, is a non-profit membership organization which works to advance women in the cybersecurity workforce.
WiCyS Australia works on behalf of women, non binary and indigenous Australians who seek to enter and progress careers in cybersecurity, while assisting employers and recruiters to find qualified candidates for their cybersecurity teams in their diversity and inclusion efforts. WiCyS’ extensive network of supporters in industry, academia, government, the military, research institutions and non-profit organizations offers important avenues to advance our mission of recruitment, retention and advancement of women in cybersecurity.
Through community events, mentoring and coaching, we aim to;
EMPOWER our WiCyS Australian membership with the support and guidance to lead and grow as leaders in cyber security
PROMOTE cybersecurity as a life skill in the community
SUPPORT Australian Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander women and girls to succeed in a cybersecurity career
ENGAGE global cybersecurity academic research and education
FORGE international connections through our cybersecurity mentoring program
