Founded by Greg Books, who started guiding Colorado rivers in 1997 and then spent the next twelve years broadening his skills and horizons internationally, Wide Open Colorado is a home for all-star guides who form a well rounded team that is ready to deliver your specialty trip. We love our outdoor playground, made Colorado our home, and are committed to showing you the best it has to offer, as well as your kids, and their kids, too! Accordingly, we seek the greenest practices possible in everything we do. We use Natural Gas Vehicles for all of our Denver and Idaho Springs excursions, and a flexible fuel vehicle for longer trips.
Most of our clients leave their Colorado adventure wanting more. Fortunately, we offer rafting, camping and outdoor survival training in the world’s great places, from half-day trips to multi-week Patagonian expeditions!
