WIDE Research Lab

WIDE (Wayfinding, Information, and Digital Experience) Research is a digital lab where students, faculty, and specialists collaborate on solving wicked problems that lead to more just and equitable futures. Rooted in values of inclusion and accessibility, WIDE supports the development and success of underrepresented voices—including Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, disabled, and first-generation scholars—across digital research and design. Our lab’s award-winning team has been recognized across major conferences and journals, with members serving as leaders in the field and advisors to industry partners. At WIDE, students gain hands-on experience in UX, accessibility, content strategy, coding, and digital storytelling, often working with real clients on research-backed projects that make a difference. We combine theory and practice, champion inclusive innovation, and work together to build digital experiences that reflect the diverse communities we serve.
