Women in Data Science (WiDS) Ghana

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) Ghana is an initiative that aims to inspire and educate data scientists in Ghana, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. WiDS Ghana is an independent event that is organised by WiDS Ambassador(s) as part of the annual WiDS Worldwide conference, the WiDS Datathon, and an estimated 200 WiDS Regional Events worldwide. Everyone is invited to attend all WiDS conference and WiDS Datathon Workshop events which feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. This technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research and applications in a number of domains and to connect with others in the field. WiDS Ghana aim to: •Create a culture of change Elevate and normalise women in data science so that the public and everyone in the field will recognise, appreciate, and value the tremendous contributions and achievements women are making in data science in the country. •Strengthen the global movement Enhance visibility and points of connection for women in the field, build a stronger and more highly visible presence with greater opportunities to collect and share experiences. •Provide free access to content and resources Provide free access to our valuable content and resources for women in Ghana
