Only 30% of the clothes in our wardrobe are worn. Yet one pair of jeans requires 10,000 litres of water, or the equivalent of 5 people's drinking water consumption for 1 year. We all have a responsibility to change the way we make and consume textiles. Will Side has opted for upcycling. This is the reuse of existing materials without destroying them, as opposed to recycling. The aim is to give garments and technical textiles a new lease of life: as products of superior quality or utility. As part of the circular economy and ecological transition, Will Side is active in the post-consumer upcycling market: the recycled materials are second-hand finished garments. Will Side selects and buys its raw materials from second-hand vintage retailers. All the clothes are washed and ironed. Will Side also works with local alteration shops to recycle fabric offcuts from sewing services. Will Side carries out all stages of processing in France, deconstructing garments and then reconstructing them using traditional know-how. When you buy a Will Side creation, you get a unique piece. The cuts of the models may look the same, but the fabrics used are different for each piece. You will be the only one to own this garment.
