Since 2015, DOJ and CFPB have partnered on four redlining cases with relief exceeding $50 million and civil money penalties totaling $17.5 million. There is unprecedented coordination with the United States Attorney's Offices nationwide, with state attorneys general and other government agencies. Fair lending referrals to the DOJ from financial regulatory agencies have increased and will continue to grow. Private plaintiff attorneys have resolved redlining claims and sometimes filed lawsuits.
