WIN-BIG project has a mission to bridge the knowledge gap on the role of women in the Blue Economy (BuE) sectors across all 6 EU sea basins. Our goal is to provide accurate data on the gender status and women's roles in BuE and identify the skills gaps that prevent women from entering or advancing in the blue career ladder. We will leverage specific capacity building programs focusing on three emergent sectors: blue bioeconomy, blue sports & sustainable tourism, and marine renewable energies & robotics. Through our innovative learning labs, acceleration program, mentorship network, and job events, we aim to promote women's participation in BuE and disseminate female role models in the industry. Our efforts will culminate in a Roadmap for Capacity Building for Women in EU BuE that will promote actions and best practices learned that can be transferred across countries and regions, further developing women's roles in BuE in the EU. We have an impressive consortium of 14 partners from 9 countries, a top-notch advisory board, and a stakeholder's network beyond EU borders, increasing our relevance, reach capacity, and promoting our project's legacy and sustainability.
