"Nos Navigum Per Vitam." This is written boldly on our coat of arms and is Latin for “We Navigate Through Life.” As professionals, working with individuals with developmental challenges, the founders of Wind Rose recognized the increasing need for educational options that appropriately addressed the educational needs of a growing population and supported their long-term ability to navigate through life’s waters. Wind Rose Academy was envisioned as a way to address the need in Plano, TX and surrounding areas to offer up a high quality educational option for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental and social challenges. Wind Rose recognizes that every child is different and therefore offers a core of appropriately challenging academics wrapped with therapeutic and developmental supports. The vision, is therefore, to educate the whole child. Wind Rose Academy believes that children deserve to both receive developmentally supportive therapies while also not missing out on valuable classroom experiences and academic teaching. Wind Rose’s integrative therapeutic model allows students the opportunity to receive a solid education alongside much needed therapies. Wind Rose Academy believes in the therapeutic and social benefit of a close academic community. Students connect together through the house system, extra-curricular activities, and field trips. Wind Rose Academy looks to be the beginning of a new generation of schools educating children on the autism spectrum by both addressing their unique needs and also recognizing their gifts and ability to be strong contributors to our society.
