Women in Engineering (WiE) is an outreach and community based program that has roots all across the world. The majority of schools have this important group to reach out to the younger generation to show off how great engineering really is!
Windsor WiE hosts events like Go Eng Girl and Badge Day to help get young girls more interested in a profession not typically chosen by females. It also hosts events like movie nights and bake sales to help the community of women engineers stay strong and involved.
Remembering women in engineering history is the last thing we cover. Every year, a Polytechnique memorial takes place in memory of the 14 women murder in a tiny Engineering school in Quebec. Every year, we get a large number of female engineers participating on December 6th to remember the lives of those women.
