Wish Studios' mission was to create fun, meaningful, original experiences that bring people together.
Between 2012 and 2019, the team worked hard to deliver on this promise, inventing the 'PlayLink' concept for Sony Interactive Entertainment, allowing players to use their phones and tablets as controllers for their PlayStation 4 consoles. Wish began prototyping this in 2013, experimenting with different, new, fun ways to play using touch screens and camera input on console.
Wish crafted three fantastic PlayLink games:
• That's You! (2017, PS4, iOS, Android)
• Knowledge is Power (2017, PS4, iOS, Android)
• Knowledge is Power: Decades (2018, PS4, iOS, Android)
(All three games were delisted by Sony in 2023 following changes to the Android operating system that required extensive modifications to both the game and the applications, and updates to support these changes were deemed impractical.)
Unable to secure a deal for Wish's next project - a multiplayer third-person co-operative adventure with an innovative twist - company management decided to call it a day, closing the studio in 2019.
