Bootstrap

Bootstrap is a decentralized exchange that democratizes investing in private companies. On the exchange, each of the top two thousand private companies has a token, called company tokens. Company tokens are a new type of investment class that is tied to the reputation of a company rather than to the company itself. The price is dictated by the number of buyers and sellers trading that token with Bootstrap's automated market maker. In effect, this means that it is speculators' perception of a company which determines its token’s price. For example, if SpaceX successfully lands a rocket on mars, more investors should believe in the company, and buy the token, causing the price to go up. By contrast, if one of their rockets explodes, more investors should no longer believe the company, and sell the token, causing the price to go down. Hence, investors who believe in a company can buy its token on Bootstrap and expect to profit as that company grows. And traders can profit from timing the ups and downs. With Bootstrap, anyone can benefit from the growth of tomorrow’s best companies, regardless of if they’re an accredited investor, have a stock brokerage, or even have a bank account.
