The objectives of the Coding and Digital Innovation Society shall be:
The Coding and Digital Innovation Society (CDIS) is an educational affiliation founded by a group of Computer Science students. It is aimed simply at equipping students with the necessary skill of programming. With the world well on its way into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, programming is reduced to a basic skill. Even at its basic skill level, not many people can programme a simple code. This then, is a cause for concern. CDIS, together with people who can code, puts it upon itself to help teach everyone and anyone who wills, to code. CDIS also affords its members the opportunity to meet new people, to learn in informal spaces, to create and be innovative with others, hence acquiring stellar teamwork skills. Members will be able grow as an individual and as a team-player. This is also an opportunity for members to form a lifelong network for themselves. This Society is not only open to students in the School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, it is open to any student in this institution who is interested in learning a thing or two about coding.
