Women Techmakers is a Google owned-brand and global program for women in technology. Women Techmakers provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology globally across all career levels to support them in joining, thriving, and leading the industry. We encourage all women contributing to the industry to participate in Women Techmakers programs and events including developers, designers, entrepreneurs, product managers, data scientists, and more. We also support all genders to participate and volunteer for our women’s-focused events and initiatives. Women Techmakers (WTM) was founded by Googlers in 2012, including Megan Smith, former VP at Google[x] and current CEO and Founder of shift7. The program started as a once-a-year event for women in technology to connect and inspire one another at Google I/O. In 2013 Women Techmakers became a global brand and program led by Natalie Villalobos who has led its expansion into scholarships, a membership program, and with presence at Google and industry-wide events, which now reach over 100k women in 190 countries annually.
