The award was originally launched in Norway (2010) - followed by Sweden (2012) as Gabrielsen Prisen. The concept was developed to international standards and relaunched as Women's Board Award in Denmark (2014) and Finland (2016), Switzerland (2019) to identify female excellence and performance at the highest level of management: www.womensboardaward.dk and www.womensboardawward.ch
