🐺Welcome to Wonder Learning Center - where gifted learners find wonder—and their pack🐾 WLC is an innovative, relationship-centered hybrid microschool designed specifically for gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) middle- and high-school students. We are a home for the wildly curious, a haven for the bright and brave, and a place where questions are not only welcome—but celebrated. Founded in South Carolina but relocating to North Carolina in Summer 2025, Wonder exists to serve students who think differently and learn passionately, but often in ways that don’t align with traditional educational systems. Our learners are creative thinkers and quirky problem-solvers. Most are gifted. Many are twice-exceptional, meaning they are both gifted and have learning differences such as ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, or anxiety. They are the kids who don’t fit in boxes—and wouldn’t want to. They’re the students who: * Read three grade levels ahead, but struggle with writing due to dysgraphia. * Can solve complex math problems in their head, but forget to bring a pencil. * Light up when exploring ancient mythology or writing epic fanfiction—but shut down in a traditional classroom. Wonder is a hybrid microschool that blends academic rigor with emotional safety and creative freedom. We offer: *Ability-Based, Mixed-Age Classes in core subjects like math, science, history, and literature *Accelerated Curriculum and Integrated Project-Based Learned for gifted learners *Neurodiversity-Affirming Support for 2e students *Weekly Field Studies that connect academic concepts to real-world experiences *Flexible Schedules (2–4 days/week options) *Electives, Clubs, and Passion Projects *A Community of Like-Minded Learners Our approach is rooted in the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and challenged—without being asked to mask who they are. We don’t “teach to the test.” We don’t believe ends at the at the edge of a worksheet. And we definitely don’t assign homework. We wonder.
