Work Safely at Sea

Safety is often well regulated on paper, but sometimes the rules do not always match practice. The Dutch Safety Board's (OVV) Shipping Accident Report (Rapportage Ongevallen scheepvaart) shows that almost half of all incidents at sea concern work-related accidents. Time to address this problem and raise awareness about working safely. The ‘Work Safely at Sea’ campaign was set up in collaboration with sector organisations. This campaign provides seafarers and maritime companies the means to raise awareness about risks. The campaign is divided into three sectors: fishing - merchant shipping - hydraulic engineering.
