The #WorkAnywhere Campaign was started by four friends during the COVID-19 pandemic to raise awareness of the societal benefits of flexible working, such as increasing economic opportunities for people with disabilities.
What began as a passionate digital campaign quickly morphed into a global advocacy movement, attracting millions of social media followers, coordinating groundbreaking research, and gaining the support of EU lawmakers.
Highlights (in less than three years):
🔹 Launching the historic European Charter for Digital Workplace Wellbeing at the European Parliament, signed by 35 MEPs including the leadership of the EP Committee of Employment and Social Affairs.
🔹 Coordinating the Future Workforce Alliance, a policy working group consisting of politicians, researchers, and leaders from multinational corporations.
🔹 Hosting European Parliament roundtables on key challenges linked to the rise of remote working including workplace loneliness and burnout.
🔹 Attracting 1.8 million social media followers and reaching an average monthly audience of 10 million people.
🔹 Featuring in the BBC, Bloomberg, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Management Today, and many more media outlets across the world.
🔹 Advising national governments on workforce and regional development policy.
🔹 Launching groundbreaking study ‘Social Connection in Remote Work’, in partnership with researchers from Boston University, finding coworking spaces to be more socially fulfilling than traditional offices.
