Workplace Psychology

The workplace is no less influential than the formative environment in which we spend our infancy, shaping the identity and achievements of an organization, while affecting the wellbeing of its members. Furthermore, the workplace is a highly psychologized domain, in which the personalities and behaviours of one exert significant impact upon the many, enhancing or diminishing organizational productivity, and fortifying the pain or pleasure we each experience while pursuing our work. Thereby, both success and wellbeing depend upon understanding those psychological dynamics. For they underpin how people perceive and respond to their occupational environment, turning a single workplace into the locus of rich reward for some, and perpetual distress for others. The Workplace Psychology Project seeks to formulate a coherent framework for comprehending and communicating these psychological dynamics, in order to assist organizations in nurturing a positive working environment simultaneously conducive to productivity and wellbeing.
