Workwise (Suffolk)

Workwise is a specialist training organisation, established in 1986, operating from two locations within Bury St Edmunds catering for individuals suffering the effects of long or enduring mental ill health. Workwise runs as a multi-activity workshop with additional craft areas and training facilities. Workwise provides work-based rehabilitation in a supportive but realistic work environment to enable trainees to regain the direction of their lives through employment and community participation. Workwise has a catchment area of the whole of West Suffolk and a small part of Norfolk. However Workwise Employment Advisors, WorkLink, operate county wide. The Shop is called Cavern 4 and is on Whiting Street in the town Centre. We are a Charity in our own right, a commercial business and a social enterprise firm. Our Worklink team are part of the Employment Support Partnership which operates across Suffolk, helping people to prgress to the employment market through 1-2-1 sessions with an experienced Employment Advisor. We run and host multiple workshops from our Hospital Road site, focused on employment related activites such as CV writing, confidence building, job goals, filling in applications etc. Every £1 spent on Workwise translates to £3 Social return. 1 in 4 people will suffer from a mental health illness or disorder in their life.
