WoundsSA is a non-profit society established to represent, promote, and elevate the art, science, and knowledge of wound management in South Africa.
Objectives of the Society
Gathering and disseminating information pertaining to wound management and facilitate the exchange of views within the Society, the public and selected audiences, by electronic means, journals, publications, lecture, seminars, conferences, and other appropriate channels.
Provide an effective voice for industry practitioners to inform, advise and lobby Government and other bodies on wound management policies.
Set standards and provide well-documented paths to enable practitioners within the industry to develop their skills, further their careers and obtain professional recognition.
Collect, document, and assess information about qualifications, certifications, and other sources of learning pertaining to fields of activity within wound management and make this available to members and others.
Certify qualifications, certifications, courses, training schemes and events as part of the Society’s assessment criteria for acceptance of members and administration of CPD.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with other South African and international bodies and entities that have a common or synergistic purpose, objectives, interests and/or influences or the activities of our members or others in the wound care management industry.
Provide non-judicial arbitration in disputes pertaining to the wound care management industry.
Engage in community development that enhances the standards and levels of wound care management for the greater good of the South African people.
