WowGerman - German Language Learning Platform Developing systematic German learning materials based on real learner challenges and gaps in existing courses. Background: Software engineer who spent 1.6+ years creating WowGerman while analyzing why traditional German courses leave learners unprepared for real-world usage. My research showed typical A1 courses cover 500-600 words, but learners need 1,000+ to avoid constant "unknown word" encounters. Current Project: WowGerman provides comprehensive A1 curriculum with: - Complete vocabulary coverage (1,099+ essential words) - Authentic pronunciation for every word - Grammar explanations that make sense to English speakers - Mobile-optimized learning experience Approach: - Combining software engineering problem-solving with language acquisition research. - Focus on identifying and filling actual gaps rather than creating another generic course.
