About Women in Public Finance Los Angeles Chapter

Women in Public Finance is a national professional networking organization in the public finance industry. We seek to advance women’s leadership opportunities by fostering relationships and providing educational activities and forums. Founded in 1997, Women in Public Finance started out with a focus on the Midwest region which has expanded over the years to draw interest from all over the United States. In 2010, Women in Public Finance amended its bylaws to recognize regional chapters and affiliates, encouraging professionals within a particular state to provide more frequent personal contact and facilitate regional activities that complement the nationally focused activities of WPF. The national Women in Public Finance organization is an excellent resource for the public finance industry. Enhancing this resource, Los Angeles Women in Public Finance will promote our public finance community by providing activities and programs at the local level. Our goal is to not only advance women in the Los Angeles public finance market; but to build and strengthen our local public finance industry as a whole through centralized relationship building events; industry and state-specific educational programs; scholarship and mentorship programs; and community outreach. Together, the members of Los Angeles Women in Public Finance will nurture and grow our public finance industry, our profession and the communities we call home. Participation in our organization is not limited to just one segment of the extensive public finance community. Membership and opportunities are open to professionals - men and women - in state and local government, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, investment and traditional banking, legal services, financial and municipal advisory services, rating agencies, bond insurers, corporate trustees, and students, among others.
