Write On Q

Write on Q is an enrichment English program which develops the writing, public speaking, and critical thinking skills of students in grades three through ten. Our passionate and certified teachers use a proven and tested curriculum to improve the language arts skills of our students. Write on Q is an innovative program that teaches students to write using a unique methodology. Unlike conventional classes, students do not start with graphic organizers or a blank page with a writing prompt. With our methodology, they will read critically and take notes, selecting important facts and capturing it in a brief outline. They will learn how to draft their ideas and make their writing more interesting by using various stylistic techniques. Through weekly vocabulary lessons, students will build a rich repertoire of words, improving their ability to choose the best words to express their ideas. Writing is a multi-step process. Once students have created their outlines and drafted their rough work, we show them how to revise and edit their work in partners. This is a key step to improve their writing results and develop their interpersonal skills. Finally, to develop their confidence and public speaking capabilities, students will recite various forms of poetry with proper expression, clarity and composure. In addition, regular presentations of writing compositions will strengthen the student’s ability to stand up in front of their peers and deliver presentations more confidently and with greater articulation and poise. Clearly, Write on Q is a communication program that will result in a student’s success on many levels!
