About Wayne State University Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies
Wayne State University's Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies (KHS) offers innovative, streamlined Bachelor, Master' and Ph.D. programs, designed to prepare students for careers in a variety of exciting fields, providing student-centered support, preparation in real-world careers. Athletic Training: Prepares students to be certified athletic trainers. Athletic trainers are healthcare professionals commonly employed by physicians' offices; university, school, and club sports teams; performing arts companies; the military; and sports medicine clinics. Exercise and Sport Science: Prepares students for careers in clinical, professional, and university faculty positions that design and implement programs and research in physical activity, exercise and sport. Heath Education: School or Community: Prepares students for careers in the broad areas of health promotion and education, including Michigan teacher certification or community and public health settings such as hospitals, non-profits, worksites, and health departments. Physical Education & Physical Activity Leadership: Prepares students in fields of physical activity, including both: Michigan PreK-12 teacher certification or leadership positions in community-based physical activity organizations, or university faculty positions. Sport Administration and Management The Bachelor of Science Sport Management Program and online Master of Arts degree in Sport Administration will prepare students for all facets of the sports industry, including professional, commercial, collegiate, interscholastic, and recreational sports in the Metro Detroit area and beyond. In addition, the KHS research faculty lead large-scale, dynamic research programs in areas such as healthy school transformations, adapted physical activity, intersections between sleep and exercise, and motor development and behavior.
