WUDA* Wurfbaum Dantas Architects / Workshop for Urbanism Design Architecture

WUDA* (Munich-Lisbon) is an award-winning architectural practice founded by Florian Wurfbaum and Inês Dantas. The acronym WUDA also stands for Workshop for Urbanism, Design and Architecture. Our work is focused on architecture, spatial design, environmental design, adaptive reuse, climate adaptation, urban planning and heritage preservation, covering projects, consulting activities and research within interdisciplinary strategies and collaborations. Our project decisions are guided by values of sustainability, integration, aesthetic and spatial quality. WUDA* benefits from the diverse cultural approaches to architecture from the founding partners and collaborators in an open creative process. WUDA*'s projects have been published in books, magazines and newspapers and exhibited internationally in galleries, museums and festivals. Our professional network includes engineers, landscape architects, designers, climate scientists, artists, sociologists, geographers, economists, surveyors, among others. In each project, we collaborate with a tailored team of specialists to meet the requirements of the design and construction process. Every project develops in a close dialogue with the client, looking for outstanding solutions to specific situations. At the current time, we have on-going projects in Germany, Portugal and United Kingdom. Our projects, from small to large scale, delve a spatial culture that integrates social, cultural, urban and technological arguments, with inherent changes of paradigm. We translate these in spatial, tectonic and territorial sustainable strategies and designs. We believe that architectural thinking, cultural and environmental awareness are crucial for designing the buildings and cities of the future. Alongside their practice, WUDA's founding partners maintain an active relationship with academia through teaching, participating in juries, delivering lectures, and conducting research.
