The World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC) is the world's biggest debating tournament, held annually in English, with teams representing universities from across the world. This tournament is dubbed as the World Championship of Debating.
WUDC is governed by the World Universities Debating Council, which sets the parameters of the tournament with the rules of debate, eligibility to participate, and the selection of the annual host.
The Council is led by an Executive Committee and distributes proportional voting authority based on the historic participation of nations in the competition. The Council meets annually on New Year’s Day.
