WWF-Korea was established in March 2014, and has recruited a supporter base of 6,000 members in its first year. WWF-Korea has implemented many activities including Earth Hour, the Earth Hour City Challenge promoting sustainable cities, the 1600 Pandas+ Exhibition, and the launch of the “Living Planet Report 2014”, translated in Korean for the first time. WWF-Korea is also active in promoting sustainable fisheries, working with Korean fisheries industry leaders and promoting sustainable seafood, including fisheries certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). WWF-Korea has built relationships with local institutions for the sustainable development of Korea.
세계자연기금 한국본부는 2014년 3월 설립되었으며, 설립 첫 해 6,000명의 회원을 모집했다. 또한 설립 후 짧은 시간 동안 지구촌 전등끄기 캠페인(Earth Hour), 지속가능한 도시를 촉진하기 위한 세계환경도시상(Earth Hour City Challenge), 1600 판다+ 전시, ‘지구생명보고서(Living Planet Report) 2014’ 최초 한국어 번역 등 많은 활동을 수행해 왔다. 세계자연기금 한국본부는 한국의 지속가능한 발전을 위해 지역 기관과 협력관계를 쌓아오고 있다.
