WWF World Wide Fund for Nature is one of the world’s most influential and largest independent nature-oriented organizations, with more than 5 million supporters and offices in more than 100 countries. WWF’s mission is to halt the degradation of the planet’s natural systems and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. This can be achieved by preserving the planet’s biodiversity; rational use of natural resources; reducing pollution and wasteful consumption. The main areas in which WWF works are the protection of forests, freshwater bodies, seas and oceans, the conservation of flora and fauna species, the minimization of the use of toxic substances, and climate change.
