WY Architects was established in the Tahoe-Truckee area in 1977 for the purpose of providing comprehensive architectural services for projects requiring creative solutions with a sensitive response to the environment. We design custom homes throughout Northern California and Nevada. Residential architecture is an area of specific expertise that the firm emphasizes in its practice. We approach each project as a new unique challenge. We strive to draw out our client's aspirations and expectations for their home in terms of lifestyle and ambiance. We are particularly sensitive to maximizing the potential the site offers in terms of view, natural features, and sun exposure, while mitigating the adverse effects of climatic conditions. Utilizing a team approach in the design process, our custom homes benefit from the diverse talents and expertise of our staff. The services we offer include architecture, site/building feasibility studies, regulatory agency approval coordination, and landscape design. We have the ability to quickly conceptualize design ideas and provide perspective sketches, scale models, photo simulations and computer generated 3-D images.
