Wydo New Business Development is dedicated to researching sustainable and innovative materials that align the European sustainability goals outlined in the Green Deal. As a corporate spin-off of the company Royal van Wijhe Verf, materials developed by Wydo are primarily used in the paint industry, while applications beyond the paint industry are explored as well. This is achieved by a team that has knowledge and expertise within biochemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical and organic chemistry, and microbiology. With success, in a relatively short period of time several patented materials were developed. Wydo is strategically located on the Zernike Campus in Groningen; the location is a hotspot for biobased economy and hosts excellent facilities and highly educated professionals. Besides, the location facilitates cooperation opportunities with scientists across various research fields.
