X-MicroFinance is a French student association of the École Polytechnique. It was founded in october 2006 with the belief that everyone should have the right to finance a project and develop a business.
Today X-MicroFinance is the largest student microcredit institute in France, gaining more and more momentum each year. In 2021, we lent more than 35.000€ to 200 recipients in 10 different villages of Guatemala.
Every summer, 30 students travel to Guatemala, Togo and India. By giving inhabitants in remote and rural provinces in Guatemala access to small loans, we are helping the maya people in its struggle against poverty. All year long our local employees in the 'aldeas' (villages) inform us of the situation of our recipients.
