Xavier's Association of Chemistry

The Xavier’s Association of Chemistry (XAC) is a chemistry enthusiasts’ club run by the students of the Department of Chemistry, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, with guidance from the faculty members. Founded in 2003, we have come a long way. Our aim is to foster curiosity for science in general, and chemistry in particular: to look within the ordinary to discover the extraordinary, to perceive science, not constricted to a field or subject, but as a vast all-encompassing domain of constant exploration. To make this dream a goal, each year, we conduct a myriad of exciting activities including guest lectures, student seminars, exhibitions, debates, quizzes, workshops, treks and industrial visits. Our star event every year is Alchemia, the all-chemistry fest inviting college students from all over the city to participate in a variety of exciting and educational activities. And to culminate all these dimensions of XAC is our very own magazine The Elemental, which serves our purpose of reaching out to a wider audience. At The Elemental, we publish articles by students, student researchers and eminent scientists from all over India and beyond. This creates a beautiful kaleidoscope of ideas meeting from all levels of the world of science.
