Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization. Founded in the year 1906, it is the nation’s first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter organization for established for African American college men. The fraternity has over 700 chapters that span all across the United States, the Bahamas, Germany, London, South Africa and South Korea.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.
Xi Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on March 5, 1982 in Henrico County, Virginia. We are the 593 House of Alpha.
The charter members of Xi Delta Lambda Chapter are Phillip E. Battle, James P. Cuffee, Alan J. Foster, Sr., John S. Greene, Jr., Clifton Johnson, James M. Johnson, John C. Puryear, Leo H. Ross, Weldon H. Smith, Dennis R. Winston, James E. Wright, Jr., and Carrol E. Zanders.

The fraternity’s national programs are community outreach mentoring initiatives that have been adopted by the organization’s governing body and mandated for implementation by all of its chapters. The include:
