Yadanabon University

Yadanabon University, a national institution of higher education under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, was established in 2000. Located 20 km north of Mandalay City Center, it has the capacity to accommodate sixty thousand students. The university, specializing in Arts and Sciences, offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs across various liberal arts and sciences disciplines. Twenty-one departments provide twenty-six academic programs. Yadanabon University offers a diverse array of extracurricular activities, including sports, performing arts competitions, moral and capacity-building programs, and experiential learning initiatives such as service-learning, seminars, and workshops. Topics covered include climate change, anti-narcotic drugs, traffic rules and regulations, and national patriotism. The university actively encourages students to engage in voluntary community work. Additionally, the university established a Student Service Centre in June 2012, where senior faculty members are alternately assigned to foster communication with students, addressing their needs and resolving issues. Recent educational reforms in Myanmar have enabled Yadanabon University to collaborate with international institutions. The university has already signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with more than eight global universities.
