Founded in Switzerland in 2004 and later opening offices in Chile and Germany, Yalea Languages was a group of education companies focused on Language Immersion and E-Learning.
Aided by Yalea's counselling services and its online booking platform, customers were able to choose from thousands of language course and accommodation options in 150+ cities located in 35 countries.
Yalea's E-Learning websites, such as VeinteMundos, were popular language resources for students that wanted to find inspiring study material.
Yalea grew from a student project to a small international group of companies employing up to 40 people and supporting hundreds of thousands of students in their quest to improve their language skills either studying abroad or online.
After running into problems with a funding round, Yalea's operations had to be discontinued in 2019 and its booking platform technology and e-learning websites were sold to competitors.
While Yalea stopped operating, the passion for language learning and cultural discoveries will continue to live on in the many lifes impacted along Yalea's journey as well as in the platforms created.
