YAMPATIKA

Yampatika is a non-profit environmental education organization serving residents and visitors in NW Colorado. Our promise is a global community of environmentally literate and engaged citizens. We accomplish this through programs that share personally relevant knowledge that helps individuals better understand and experience the world around them and inform their decisions. Our programs seek to have participants experience a wondrous sense of connection. We want participants to leave our programs connected, inspired, and empowered. We create and deliver engaging, science-based environmental education experiences that connect people and their sense of place in the natural world. We accomplish this through three main program areas. They are Inspiring Environmental Literacy with Youth, Connecting People to Nature, and our Environmental Learning Center at Legacy Ranch. Our six guiding principles are: • Integrity of Content: Yampatika content is always science-based and delivers on programmatic quality standards • Quality of Experience: We enable discovery through the joy of shared experiences that engage the mind, body, and heart • Innovation: We innovate to advance experiential science-based education and increase educational efficacy • Partnership: We partner to expand our reach and participant experiences in the natural world and to foster community • Participant Focus & Engagement: We are an invitation for fun, discovery, and understanding across generations and diverse populations • Intentions: We are deliberate and purposeful in our efforts to educate and inspire action
