YANA (UK)

Established in 2021, YANA seeks to provide a safe haven for those marginalized, discriminated against, abandoned or considered outcasts where they will be accepted as they are, shown love, and given opportunities to realize their potential and never feel alone. The organization assists people facing life challenges like critical illnesses, mental illness, disabilities, orphans, and those affected by natural disasters. Currently, YANA is a home for abandoned, orphaned, and physically challenged children and the elderly. Our Programs: Our Organization provides several community development services in rural areas of Mzuzu and beyond to fulfill our mission. 1. Early Childhood Development Services: We offer free early childhood education, meals, shelter, and special education services to underprivileged, orphaned, disabled, and at-risk children through two early childhood development centers. Nutritional support is provided to malnourished children. 2. Feeding Program: Meals are provided to all children attending our early childhood development centers, as many come from families unable to adequately provide food. 3. Educational Support: We financially support the schooling of orphans aged 7 to 17 through the payment of school fees and supplies, with an emphasis on assisting those with disabilities or serious health issues. 4. Outreach Programs: Underserved children in rural communities are provided with donated clothing, shoes, and other essential items. Support is also given to victims of natural disasters. 5. Mental Health Services: Counseling is available for children and youth suffering from conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, HIV/AIDS, and other critical illnesses. 6. Safe Homes: Residential care is currently offered to underprivileged and abandoned children, teenage mothers, the elderly, and children with chronic diseases. They are provided with basic needs, including food, education, healthcare, etc.
